Farah

Founder & President

Project Downtown is a platform for anyone who wants to be involved in serving his/her community. I first learned about Project Downtown during my college years in Tampa, FL. I loved the mission of this organization as I am extremely passionate about giving back to our community. I founded the Charlotte chapter to provide an opportunity for all our young people to learn and help the impoverished sectors of our city. I hope through advocacy and outreach activities, we are able to make a difference, even if it’s as small as putting a smile on someone’s face.

Malek

vice president

Hey I’m Malek! I was born and raised in Fayetteville North Carolina. I moved to Charlotte to attend UNCC and experience the big city lifestyle. I joined Project Downtown to volunteer more and get involved in the community. To me, it’s an obligation to give back to the less fortunate and that’s exactly what this organization is here to do. My favorite part about working with Project Downtown is seeing the smiles and joy our work brings to the children and people that we serve

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, I moved to Charlotte, NC during my preteen years and have since built a meaningful career as a registered nurse at Atrium Health, specializing in oncology. Driven by a deep commitment to my community, I chose to volunteer with Project Downtown, where I help address local needs and foster connections with like-minded individuals passionate about making a positive impact.
